Ayurvedic practitioner Kathryn Templeton has devoted her life to the health of others. A psychotherapist for 30 years, Kathryn is a master teacher in the field of drama therapy and continues to work both clinically and as an educator specializing in the treatment of individuals with anxiety, depression, and complex trauma. As a C-IAYT, NAMA-BC board certified registered ayurvedic practitioner and senior ParaYoga teacher, Kathryn has worked to develop specialized treatments integrating the principles of yoga, ayurveda, and clinical psychology. Kathryn is a faculty member at the Himalayan Institute and the founder of the Himalayan Institute Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist program (HIAYS), Torchbearer Mentorship program, AYS Grad School, and The Three Wisdom Traditions: Integrating Yoga, Ayurveda, and Psychology (3WT). She is an adjunct professor of human development and general psychology, a contributing writer and educator for Yoga International, and a Banyan Botanicals ambassador.Â

This training is designed for yoga teachers, yoga therapists, mental health and healthcare professionals as well as dedication and curious yoga students.
You do not need to be a yoga teacher to participate in this training, but you do need to be a yoga teacher to receive final certification from Kathryn Templeton. If you complete your 200hr Yoga Teacher Training after completing this course, you will still be able to collect your Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist Certification.
Yes, currently Yoga Alliance is accepting all continuing education completed online. This includes both contact and non-contact hours. In order to receive continuing education hours for the training, you will need to complete all sessions. This course qualifies for 100 credits.
Students are required to read the Textbook of Ayurveda, Volume One: Fundamental Principles by Dr. Vasant Lad and Yoga & Ayurveda: Self-Healing and Self-Realization by David Frawley. It is also suggested you read Eat-Taste-Heal: An Ayurvedic Cookbook for Modern Living by Thomas Yarema.
