Shake off the heaviness of winter and step into spring with this Kapha-balancing yoga class. Through steady, flowing movement and breath, we will warm the body, boost energy, and renew vitality. Kapha qualities govern springtime and the hours between sunrise and 10 am. We will warm up with pranayama, then use vinyasa-style sequencing, including sun salutations, backbends, and twists, to improve circulation and release physical and mental sluggishness. You will need to have one block nearby, along with a strap (or belt) for backbending support. We’ll be practicing a warming ayurvedic pranayama, so having some tissues on hand could be helpful too!
