Breath as the Doorway: Art and Science of Prāṇāyāma

“Pranayama becomes art when breath practices breathe us and effort softens into intimacy.”

Simply arriving and noticing the breath is already part of the practice of prāṇāyāma. Prāṇāyāma isn’t just about learning to breathe ‘right’ — it’s about our relationship to the breath and how to listen to and allow it to teach us. For the breath is a doorway into our body, mind, and nondual Being. Join Richard for this experiential introductory session that offers you a threshold experience into working with the breath as the movement of Life that is breathing itself in a manner that enables us to feel safe, meaningful, and noble. In this session, we explore what happens when we listen and sense the breath deeply and touch the living mystery that is already breathing our life.
This session’s flow will help you:

  • Regulate your nervous system
  • Experience a core nondual principle within the breath
  • Embody the breath as the doorway to health, healing and awakening
  • Leave feeling nourished, inspired, and curious about deepening your relationship with the breath

  1. Thank you very much for this offering! I have tremendous respect for Richard’s knowledge and teachings and for his methodology. I am grateful and “honored” to have experienced this offering focused on breath provided by Richard Miller. It is extremely helpful both from a personal learning perspective but also as a teacher as I emphasize the importance and power of breath in my classes, yet realize that at times this vital or key aspect of yoga (and life) practice is often overlooked or “underrated”. Once again, thank you!
